Students will produce a three-panel comic strip and learn
how to do word bubbles, inking and add other elements
of interest. Participants will also enjoy making various
animation devices as they learn about optical illusions and
how animated cartoons work.

Cartoon Madness
Kids will have a blast as they learn the tricks of famous cartoonists.  They will draw along with a professional artist as they learn character design, creating a scene and other fun drawing techniques.  Kids will produce pages of fun ‘quicky’ cartoons as well as a complete scene that will be professionally mounted on a board.

Young Artists Drawing/ Artsy Kids

This class is for the young artist who loves everything about
art. We will draw, paint and work with 3D materials. Students
will produce a mixed media collage that will be suitable for
framing. They will explore watercolor and acrylics as well
as pastel animal portraits. A sure hit for your artsy kid.

Art Adventures

Join us for four days of summer art fun.
Students learn many new techniques as they draw and paint. We will work with chalk and oil pastels, acrylic and watercolor paints. They will learn basic drawing techniques such as perspective, value and creating form. Our students achieve great success when instructed by professional artists and use high quality art supplies. You'll be amazed at what they can do. There is a masterpiece in every child!

Advanced Drawing

This class is for the very serious artist. Students will sharpen their life drawing skills. They will learn about proportion, value, negative space, implied line, etc. We encourage them to bring their favorite photo and learn how to grid and transfer to produce a beautiful, photo-realistic drawing.

Advanced Painting

Paint the way Rembrandt did! You will learn the art of oil and acrylic glazing on panel and canvas. Students will produce a minimum of two paintings. They will learn the basic technique of acrylic glazes as they paint a simple still life. Then they graduate to a more complicated subject and try oil glazes. They learn how to prepare their boards with gesso and sanding, and will varnish the final pieces. Suitable for framing.
